Landscapes

Some of these paintings are made to capture real places… some are made to capture the essence or the feeling of real places… and some of these landscapes are completely imaginary. They exist on a spectrum, with one side showing more traditional impressionist and expressionist approaches, and the other consisting of completely imaginative surrealist dreamscapes. Some of these places are as I see them with my eye, some are as I see them in my mind. Some of these places come from dreams, made up, untethered, and non-existent in the reality we experience everyday. A landscape, a setting, the backdrop for all of life, through all of life. Whether it be a real and beautiful place, perhaps an epic destination or your favorite spot for a hike - or a place you can only wander in your mind… a landscape should be noticed, and celebrated. That is the motivation for these works, to celebrate the conscious and un-conscious world around us.
